Nextstep Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

Nextstep is a Socratic goal-setting coach that runs in your browser. This policy covers what data it touches and where it goes.

What we collect

Your goals, plans, check-in history, and streaks are stored only in your browser's local storage on your device. Nextstep has no accounts and no server-side database — we don't see this data, and it isn't collected or transmitted anywhere by us.

What leaves your device

When you answer the coach's questions or check in on a step, that text is sent to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic's API to generate the next question, plan, or step. We don't store this traffic — it passes through to generate a reply and is then discarded server-side. Anthropic's own data-handling terms apply to that processing; see Anthropic's privacy policy.

Third parties

Nextstep uses Anthropic's API to generate coaching responses, as described above. It uses no analytics, trackers, or advertising SDKs.

Changes

If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page.
