Shutterbit Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

Shutterbit is a daily photo prompt app. It has no account, no backend server, no analytics and no advertising, and the app makes no network connections of its own.

What we collect

Nothing. The photos you add, your streaks and your settings are stored only on your device. We never receive them.

Photos

When you take or choose a photo, Shutterbit saves a compressed copy inside the app on your device. It does not add anything to your Photos library, and it does not read your library beyond the photo you pick through the system photo picker.

Permissions

Camera: used only when you tap Take a photo, to capture your photo of the day. Notifications: used only if you turn on the daily reminder, to show the day's prompt at the time you choose. Shutterbit does not ask for your location, contacts, microphone or any other personal data.

Sharing

When you choose to share a collage, poster or photo card, Shutterbit makes an image and uses the standard iOS share sheet. The app does not receive information about where it was sent. Once you share an image, the app or service you send it to handles it under its own policy. Please ask before sharing photos of other people.

Data deletion

Delete a single photo from its day, remove all photos with Delete all my photos in Settings, or delete the app to remove all of its data from your device.

Changes

If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page.
