Hold Dear stores everything only on your device — there's no account and no cloud sync built into the app. Your letters and entries are included in your regular iPhone backup (iCloud or Finder) the same way your other apps are, as long as backups are turned on in iOS Settings. If you lose your device or delete the app without a backup, your entries can't be recovered — that's the trade-off of keeping this fully private and on-device.
Open Settings in the app and tap Export [name]'s letters to generate a PDF of that year's letters. Exporting is a Hold Dear Plus feature.
Free includes one person. Hold Dear Plus removes that limit — go to Settings → Add someone to upgrade.

Email us with your device model and iOS version if it's a bug — that's usually all we need to reproduce it.
