UtilityWatch Support

Questions, troubleshooting, and how to reach us.

How does spike detection work?

UtilityWatch compares a new bill's usage to the same month last year, if you have that history — that's the seasonal adjustment, so a hot July isn't compared to a mild April. If you don't have a year of history yet, it falls back to your trailing 3–6 month average. A spike is flagged when usage comes in more than 30% above that comparison (adjustable in Settings).

How accurate is the bill photo scan?

UtilityWatch reads usage, cost, and billing period off your bill using on-device text recognition, then shows you an editable review screen before saving — utility bills have no standard layout, so it's worth a quick glance before confirming.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free tracks 1 utility with manual entry and a basic trend view. UtilityWatch Pro unlocks all three utilities, camera scan with automatic OCR, spike detection, and the likely-cause checklists.
