Lecturely records lectures, turns them into text and writes study notes. It has no account, no backend server, no analytics and no advertising, and the app itself makes no network connections.
Nothing. Your recordings, transcripts, summaries and questions are stored only on your device. We never receive them.
Lecturely uses the microphone only while you are recording, and shows a clear recording indicator on screen. Recordings are saved as audio files inside the app on your device. You can delete any recording from the library, and deleting the app removes all of them.
Transcription uses Apple's speech recognition with on-device recognition required, so audio is processed on your device and is not uploaded. Summaries, key points, quiz questions and answers are written by Apple's on-device language model (Apple Intelligence, via the Foundation Models framework) on supported iPhones. Nothing is sent to us or to any third-party AI service. When iOS asks for Speech Recognition access it shows Apple's standard permission wording; Lecturely does not use Apple's server-based recognition.
AI-written content may be inaccurate. Check anything important against the transcript. You can report a problem with AI content from the summary and Ask screens, or email us below.
Laws and school or workplace rules about recording differ. Only record people who know and agree. You are responsible for getting permission.
If you use Export, the text you choose is handed to the iOS share sheet and goes only where you send it.
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page.
