PlantVet uses an account so your plants sync across devices and survive a reinstall. This policy covers what we collect and where it goes.
Your email address (for sign-in), and the plant data you create: nicknames, species, photos, watering history, diagnosis history, and growth-timeline photos. This is stored in our Supabase database and storage, scoped to your account with row-level security — no one else can read it.
When you photograph a plant for species ID or a leaf for diagnosis, that photo is sent to a PlantVet-owned server (a Cloudflare Worker), which forwards it to Pl@ntNet (species ID) or Plant.id (disease/pest diagnosis) for a one-time result. Photos you save to a plant's profile or growth timeline are stored in our database as described above.
Messages you send to the plant-expert chat are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response, and are stored in our database so your conversation history persists.
If you allow location access, PlantVet uses your approximate location to fetch the current temperature (via Open-Meteo) and adjust watering schedules for your local climate. Your location is not stored — it's used for that one request and discarded.
PlantVet Premium subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. PlantVet never sees your payment details.
Supabase (accounts, database, storage), Pl@ntNet and Plant.id (photo identification/diagnosis, via our own server), Anthropic (expert chat), and Open-Meteo (weather, no account or key required) are the only third parties PlantVet talks to. No advertising or analytics SDKs are used.
Email us and we'll delete your account and all associated data.
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page.
